Shuhaimi Baba and UKM

Datin Paduka Shuhaimi Baba is always supportive of education. In 2016, she (and Pesona Pictures Sdn. Bhd) has agreed to bestow the award to an excellent Media and Communication student, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, UKM. The award, which is worth RM1000, will be for 10 years. The first award was given during UKM’s 44th Convocation which is on the 5-8 November 2016.

The relationship between Shuhami Baba and UKM is an epitome of industry-university partnership.



Hassan Muthalib

Hassan Muthalib aka Pak Hassan is a respected figure in the Malaysian film industry. He is known as the father of animation. His most recent book Malaysian Film in the Bottle (2015) must be one of the most readable books on the industry and its history. It provides an intimate account of the industry from the perspective of the one working actively within the industry.


Guest Judges in UKM

mamat-khalid-and-adamAn archive on Malaysian film should also record the movement of the Malaysian film industry players. This is an important historical document that will be useful for future reference.

This is part of an English Enrichment Program supported by the then dean of the faculty, Prof Hazita Azman.
